3 Purdue Football players expelled after rape investigation
Following an investigation of a sexual assault by four Purdue football players of two women, three of the players have been expelled from Purdue University, according to WLFI News 18.
The university conducted an investigation about the incident that took place in October of last year. The two women claimed they were sexually assaulted at an off-campus home.
However, after review of the case, the Tippecanoe County prosecutor decided not the press charges.
According this tweet from GoldandBlack.com, OT Martesse Patterson and DB Brandon Roberts, both of whom have been suspended since midseason last year, have been removed from the team's official roster.
In a statement to News 18 Friday, Purdue said, in part:
"Federal law prohibits the university from releasing specific information regarding disciplinary sanctions against a student, however, we reiterate that Purdue takes any report of sexual assault seriously."
