AN ICE-FUELLED predator who brutally raped a schoolgirl and a young mum in their own homes could walk free from jail in a little under 12 years.
Davut Bulduk, 31, raped the young mum in a terrifying and prolonged attack in her own home before brutalising a teenager months later.
County Court Judge Paul Lacava sentenced Bulduk to 18 years in jail with a non-parole period of 13 years.
He has already spent 385 days behind bars.
The court heard the attacks had destroyed the lives of his victims and their families.
His first attack happened in 2015 after a man made the unfortunate mistake of telling him he was leaving his wife alone while he went away with their two kids.
The woman had been recovering from surgery when she got out of the shower to find a masked and naked Bulduk in her kitchen.
Armed with a knife, he repeatedly raped the terrified woman, binding her hands and mouth with tape.
Two months later the father-of-two cased out the home of a 16-year old schoolgirl before breaking into her bedroom.
Her morning alarm had just gone off when she was faced with the masked intruder.
Bulduk savaged his helpless victim in her own bed, repeatedly raping her while her parents and two siblings slept.
He was arrested the following month and initially denied raping the teenager.
His barrister later told the court Bulduk could not remember the attacks due to his massive use of the drug ice at the time.
He described Bulduk as an “ice zombie”.
Judge Lacava said Bulduk’s use of the drug did not excuse his actions and condemned him for his “planned and premeditated attacks”.
In sentencing him to effectively six-and-a-half years in jail per victim, Judge Lacava said his conduct would not be tolerated.
“You acted like a sexual predator and that is how you behaved,” he said.
“The public needs protection from you.”
He told the court he feared Bulduk would probably reoffend on release.
“I cannot say you will not reoffend again in the same way given the opportunity,” he warned.
Bulduk showed no emotion as he was sent back to jail.
