AMBERNATH: A 15-year-old girl was gang-raped by six men, including her boyfriend, in a flat at Ambernath in the Thane district of Maharashtra. Police arrested four people, including her boyfriend Govind Koli, 21, while the hunt is on for two other accused - Rahul, 23, and Yogesh, 24.
Those arrested have been identified as Nitin Sanap, 21, Kushal Balkawade, 25, and Dilip Mahadik alias Mukesh, 26.
The SSC student of a private school in Ambernath was held captive in the flat for two days by her boyfriend Govind at his friend Mukesh's residence where the accused joined them and raped the victim by serving her juice laced with sedatives.
The police said as the exams of class 9 were over, the girl was attending tuitions of SSC at her school. On Friday, her grandfather dropped her at the school after which Rahul approached telling her that Govind was suffering from high fever and took the victim to meet him at Mukesh's residence where the other accused gang-raped her.
Police inspector from Ambernath police station Narendra Patil said, "After the victim approached us, we immediately filed a complaint and arrested four accused while the hunt is on to nab two other accused who are on the run."
The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape, said the police, adding that a case under sections 363 (abduction), 376 D (gangrape), 365 (abducting with an intent of secretly and wrongfully confining a person), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was lodged against all the accused.
