A 13-year-old girl was abducted from a bus stop and sexually assaulted before being rescued by police.
Dontrel Jermaine Williams, 39, was arrested on felony charges of sex assault and kidnapping after the young girl was forced into a car in Portage Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan on Wednesday afternoon.
The girl was taken to Williams' home in Clinton Avenue and assaulted.
When Williams' wife came home unexpectedly at about 7.45pm the girl said she was able to briefly get away and call 911.
Kalamazoo officers said they narrowed down their search to a specific house and found the victim upstairs.
A neighbor told 24 Hour News 8 that she saw officers arrest Williams. The channel reported that state police records show Williams is being held on felony charges of sex assault and kidnapping.
He has no other charges on his record with Michigan State Police.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Captain Vic Ledbetter said: 'From the interview and from what we can gather at this point, it seemed to be a random act.'
'She was smart enough and aware enough to call 911 to report that she had been kidnapped.'
He added that the 13-year-old girl's mother was waiting for her and when she did not return home she filed a missing person report.
Authorities said the suspect and victim do not know each other.
