21-year-old girl drugged, gang-raped by 7 boys
Mumbai: Spending a month in summer at grandmother’s house in Pune turned out to be a nightmare for a 21-year-old girl from Neral, Mumbai. She was gang raped several times by seven boys.
Pimpri police on Friday arrested Saurabh Shetty, Nasib Khan and Harshal Bhatiya in connection with the incident. The arrested boys are residents of Ajmera Colony, Pimpri in Pune.
According to sources, the girl from Neral came to her grandmother’s house in Ajmera Colony in Pimpri in Pune to spend her vacation.
She used to go for evening walks at nearby garden daily. A group of boys befriended her during her walks. One day one of the youth took her for a party in a car, gave her something to drink which make her unconscious. Then she was gang raped by the boy and his friends. They threatened her with dire consequence if she disclose this to anybody. The boys repeated this act a couple of times.
Following the incident, she fell ill and her grandmother sent her back her to her parents in Neral. There again she fell sick and had to take medical treatment. The suspicious mother questioned her and she revealed her ordeal in Pune.
Her mother then lodged complaint with Neral police on May 25. Four more youth are still at large and the police have been searching for them. Ratna Sawat, police sub inspector, Pimpri, said, “we have invoked Indian Penal Code 376 for rape, 323 for causing hurt and 506 for criminal intimidation.
