19-year-old girl raped by 2 neighbours
Two men were arrested on Thursday for raping their 19-year-old neighbour in west Delhi's Naraina area on the afternoon a day before.
The incident took place in the shanty of one of the accused, who lives near the cantonment area.
According to the police, the incident took place around 2pm, when the victim was working at a construction site nearby. She had come to the Capital just six months ago to help her parents earn their living, her complaint stated.
"The two men called her on the pretext of seeking some help. One of them then dragged her into his shanty and forced himself upon her, while the other stood guard. After this, the other accused took his turn to rape her," a senior police officer said.
Somehow, the woman managed to rush out of the shanty while bleeding profusely. She then narrated the ordeal to her parents, who rushed her to hospital, where sexual assault was confirmed. The police were consequently informed.
"A case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 376 has been registered. The duo has been arrested and the matter is being investigated," the officer said.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a minor boy raped a minor in the Mangolpuri area. The two had been acquainted for long. The victim told the police that the boy told her that his mother had called her home. When she reached his place, he was alone and raped her. The matter came to light when the victim's parents saw her crying and took her to a doctor.
Police said that the accused has been apprehended and the family members are being questioned to ascertain more details.
