LUCKNOW: An eight-year-old girl was gang-raped by three teen-aged boys in Nigohan area on Friday evening. According to police, the school boys were arrested and they are all between 13 and 16 years of age
Nigohan police station officer K K Mishra said the girl had taken cattle for grazing to the forest in Utrawan when three boys who were playing there raped her and fled.
The girl reached home and told her parents. Her father, a farmer, lodged a complaint with the police.
Mishra told TOI, "The boys all belong to the same village and are sons of farmers. They were known to the girl as they all were from her school though they never attend classes and loaf around and last year too some villagers had complained about them."
He added that charges under sections 376 (d) gangrape and 78 of the Prevention of children from sexual offences act (POCSO) had been slapped on them.
