RAJKOT/AHMEDABAD: An eight-year-old girl studying in class II of a private school in Una town was raped by the peon on June 3. The girl's mother lodged a complaint against the peon Hardik Rabari on Thursday after the girl narrated the trauma to her.
Una police inspector V M Khuman told TOI that the girl had accompanied her aunt and three other women to the school on June 3 where they had gone for cleaning work before reopening of classes. While the women were cleaning the terrace, Rabari lured the girl downstairs and sexually assaulted her in one of the classrooms.
Meanwhile, Una police have also arrested a man who had kidnapped a minor girl in Men village near the town and raped her. The accused Kesu Salim Jethwa Mansuri had abducted the girl on February 26 and taken her to Mumbai.
"Our team arrested Mansuri after his mobile location was traced to Vasai," Khuman said, adding that the accused worked as a casual labourer. Mansuri has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
