SERIAL RAPISTS 34

It seems most kidnapping kingpins around the country are being picked up with ease following the arrest of their godfather, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike alias Evans, as another notorious kidnapper and serial rapist, Emmanuel Nwabilor has been arrested in Abia State.Nwabilor popularly known as Ukwu Nwanyi, according to South East report, had been giving residents of the state and its environs sleepless nights for many years as he had kidnapped many residents and made a fortune from ransom.

To add spice to his reign of terror, Nwabilor is said to also be in the habit of raping and robbing his female victims even after collecting ransom from their families.
His end came after he and his gang members were busted by the State Police Command after he had been on the wanted list of the police for many years.
During his interrogation, Ukwu Nwanyi confessed being the leader of the gang and was responsible for many kidnappings and robbery going on in the state. He also confessed to having raped more than seven women while his reign lasted.
He also confessed to being arrested numerously for different crimes and subsequently released after bribing his way through with the police.
Ukwu Nwanyi said he abducted his victims using local tricycle riders whom he pays on a daily basis and they would take the victims to his hideouts where he would rob, rape the women and would only release them after ransom has been paid.
Recall that a few days after Evans was arrested in Lagos, a notorious kidnap kingpin who had been terrorizing residents of some area in the northern parts of the country, Sani Ibrahim, alias Burtu, was arrested by men of the Nigerian Army in a forest along the Kaduna-Abuja road.

OMAHA, Neb. - Right now an accused rapist is in jail but police say more victims may be out there.
He's booked on four felony charges, accused of targeting women in North Omaha.
The victims in these cases range in age from 13 to 26 with the sexual assaults happening between the months of March and May. Police say there likely are more victims.
Four sexual assaults - some only blocks apart - several involving young teenage girls in this North Omaha neighborhood.
Police say 30-year-old Abdul-aleem Arthur is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl near 24th & Ames on March 12th and  a 26-year-old woman who met Arthur to buy drugs near 30th & Fowler on March 30th.
Then on May 17th - police say he raped his youngest victim - a 13 year old runaway near 28th and Lothrup.
Just days later on May 23rd, he's accused of assaulting a 19-year-old woman near 36th and Saratoga who met Arthur on a dating app.
We're unable to show you Arthur's mugshot because of OPD's ongoing investigation. They say more victims may be involved.
"It is more unusual to have a sexual assault that's with a stranger. And also in instances where it is rape by a stranger people many times feel more compelled to report that. So it's not surprising people reported this in that sense," said Elizabeth Power, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Womens Center for Advancement Omaha.
The Women's Center for Advancement in Omaha is one resource for anyone who is experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking.
They urge anyone who has experienced sexual assault to not be afraid to reach out if they need help.
"Many times victims of rape really hold a lot of guilt for rape happening to them. They maybe feel like they did something to lead somebody on or didn't do enough to stop an incident in no way shape or form is ever the fault of the victim always the fault of the rapist," said Power.
OPD is also asking anyone with information on these cases to come forward. Crimestoppers is 402-444-STOP.
The Women's Center for Advancement has a hotline number - they can be reached at 402-345-7273.

Suspected serial rapist arrested; police say more victims possible Megan Hahn Jun 26, 2017

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - New DNA evidence has led local investigators to a suspected serial rapist

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine believes Brandon Weathers is responsible for a string of cold-case rapes in North Omaha between 2002 and 2004. Kleine said: "This shows us the power of forensic DNA evidence."
Investigators found Weathers in prison, already serving 100-160 years for another rape. His victim in that case was his 13 year-old foster daughter. The sexual assault resulted in a pregnancy.
WOWT 6 News checked Weathers' criminal history and discovered that before he was a foster parent, Weathers was already a felon. He was convicted for theft and burglary.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services prohibits some felons from becoming foster parents - including anyone convicted of abuse, neglect, or a violent crime. Other felons, however, are eligible to become foster parents five years after their conviction or at the Department's discretion.
Lisa Blunt, Chief Operating Officer at the Child Saving Institute, told WOWT 6 News: "That's the minority of the folks who wish to become foster parents. We have so many wonderful foster parents in the community. And they serve a vital role."

ATHENS — A 26-year-old serial rapist, who was a teenager when he began attacking women, will be around retirement age by the time he is released from prison.
Sean J. Lawson Jr., of Athens, was sentenced Tuesday to 40 years in prison for sexually assaulting three women in that city and another in Lancaster, plus one consecutive year in prison for an unrelated probation violation. Thirty-two years of the total 41-year sentence ordered by Athens County Common Pleas Judge George P. McCarthy is mandatory.
The sentence includes 29 years for all charges in an 11-count indictment to which Lawson pleaded guilty on Tuesday, plus 11 years for the Lancaster rape, which was charged separately in a bill of information and was included with the Athens cases as “a continuing course of conduct.”
Lawson initially pleaded not guilty to the 11-count indictment that charged him with sexual assaults on women in the city on June 11, 2006, when he was 15 and a student in the Alexander school district in the Athens area, and on June 20, 2015, and Dec. 12, 2015.
Lawson also has admitted to two other uncharged sexual assaults in Athens, Athens County Prosecutor Keller J. Blackburn said Tuesday, including attacking a girl on a bike path in 2007 when he was in high school, and a woman in the Uptown area in 2013.
“To all the victims, I am sorry and I hope they can move on,” Lawson said in court.
The Lancaster rape was reported March 12. Lancaster police obtained Lawson’s DNA, which matched the profile of the man sought in the Athens rapes in 2006 and 2015. The woman that Lawson admitted he raped in Lancaster shared in court the impact the crime had on her.
“You can’t put a price on being raped until it happens to you,” she said. “I thought I had it bad but... those girls I feel for them more than I feel for myself because they went for so many years without any justice, without any healing.”
In a letter from the woman who was raped in her home by Lawson in 2006, she told the court she still has nightmares.
“I feel damaged and I will never be the same,” she wrote. “It will affect me the rest of my life.”
Lawson’s lawyer, Andrew Sanderson, said Lawson does not understand why he attacked the victims, calling him an otherwise law-abiding citizen who “struggled to control a monster that made his conduct go off the rails.”
Lawson, ordered by the judge to register for life as a Tier III sex offender after prison, plans to receive counseling in prison, Sanderson said.
Lawson, who is married with one child and another on the way, had been enrolled since April in a jail-diversion program for a felony charge in November of improperly having a firearm in his vehicle while driving drunk.

A convicted serial rapist whose case made legal history is back in court in Orange County.
Tommie Lee Andrews was sent to prison nearly 30 years ago.

Andrews was suspected in two dozen rapes in 1987 and became the first person in the United States convicted with DNA evidence.
Wearing a blue suit and shackles, the convicted rapist was brought before a judge to plead for his release.
Andrews finished his sentence in 2012, but under the Jimmy Ryce Act, violent sexual predators can be held beyond their sentences until they can persuade a court to release them.
"He denied that he committed these crimes and he did not demonstrate remorse," Amy Swan, a forensic psychiatrist, said.
The state called two experts who said Andrews denies his guilt, refuses therapy and has a mental disorder that compels him to commit violent sexual acts.
The defense challenged those claims.
Sitting in court, among a half-dozen women who said they were assaulted by Andrews, was Karen Munroe.
She became part of forensic history when she had the courage in 1987 to trust a prosecutor named Jeff Ashton.
Even though she could not identify Andrews as the man who raped her, DNA did.
His conviction was the first in the nation with this then-emerging genetic science as evidence.
Munroe told WESH 2 News, regardless of what the defense claims, there should never be a day in which Andrews goes free.

The sequence of events leading to the arrest of the violent sex beast rape is as intriguing as a plot in a John Le Carre crime novel. This is from the police log book:
“On Thursday 15th June, at about 04:00am, a 22 year-old Essa Jarjue a Senegalese national resident in Tabokoto was caught breaking into a dwelling house and attempting to rape a woman in New Yundum. He was escorted to Yundum Police Station where the matter was subjected to a thorough investigation.
“According to the interim investigations, the suspect was passing through a compound and noticed an open window and when he peeped through and saw a lady sleeping, he scaled through the window and attempted to rape a 23 year-old girl and strangling her. The lady struggled and yelled for help which triggered the rapist to run and escape through the door. He took an ITEL dual sim mobile phone belonging to his victim.
The same rapist proceeded to another compound in New Yundum and used a similar mode of operation by entering through the half-away opened door of a house and upon seeing a  lady believed to be 18 years old, lying on a wooden armed chair, he attempted to rape her too. The lady upon realising some abnormalities on her body, screamed for help which forced the rapist to run again.  However a group of people who sighted him were able to chase and catch him. They escorted him to the police where upon questioning a whole interesting pattern of his activities were recorded.
“After thoroughly going through the statements of the complainants, witnesses and the suspects, the police investigators at Yundum Station saw the striking similarities  between the case at hand and the previous rape cases reported to the police by complainants from Lamin and Faji Kunda villages. The suspect was confronted with the two incidents and intensively interrogated by the investigators.
“As a result, Essa Jarjue confessed to the police that on 26th May, 2017, around 03:00hrs to 04:00hrs he attempted to rape a 32 year-old lady in Lamin. Though unsuccessful, he managed to steal her two mobile phones.
“The following day, 27th May 2017, at about 02:00hrs, Essa Jarjue confessed to have gone to another compound in Lamin village and attempted to rape girl of about 19. He succeeded in tearing her underwear and although he failed in his attempt to forcefully penetrate her, he ejaculated on her thigh. The samples of the semen were collected by the police and were undergoing laboratory test by the police scientific support unit.
“When further confronted by the police investigators, Essa Jarjue also confessed that on 29th May 2017 as he was walking around in Lamin, he saw a window open in a particular compound. There too he peeped inside and saw a little girl sleeping, and he scaled  the fence and enter the room through the window and forcefully had carnal knowledge of the 8 year-old by covering the girl’s mouth and nose with his hand leading to her death.
Jarjue also admitted to be responsible for the death of a 7- month pregnant woman in Faji Kunda as a result of an attempted rape on her. According to Essa Jarjue, he found a door opened ‘quarter way’ and he entered and saw a lady sleeping with her young child. He climbed on her and covered the lady’s mouth and nose leaving her unconscious. He turned the woman up front on her back to have carnal knowledge of her, then realising that she was pregnant, and could not do anything, he decided to steal her mobile phones and left the house.
Even though it was reported last week that the seven-month pregnant woman of Faji Kunda died of natural causes as indicated by medical reports, the police investigators remained suspicious considering the circumstances in which the lady was found. The police never relented in finding answers to numerous questions posed by the public for the police to establish the facts leading to the death of the innocent lady, thus, further investigations revealed that she died as a result of strangling inflicted on her by her killer.

Since, all his mode of operation are similar, coupled with his confession of committing the various crimes, Essa Jarjue, is charged with 2 counts of murder, 4 counts of attempted rape, and 4 counts of housebreaking and stealing, which are all contrary to the criminal code, cap 10, volume III of the laws of the Gambia.
“Subsequently, the Office of the Inspector General of Police returns gratitude to the general public for their vigilance and cooperation manifested during this search and previous searches conducted on clamping down crimes and criminals.
The office further encourages the general public to continue being vigilant and report any suspicious crime and criminal activities in their neighborhoods, as that is the only way to guarantee a crime free Gambia.”

Several victims who told an Ottawa court they were surreptitiously drugged and then sexually assaulted were likely given either GHB — commonly known as the date-rape drug — or the anesthetic ketamine, an emergency department doctor testified.
Phillip Wilson, 33, has pleaded not guilty to 45 charges including sexual assault, aggravated assault, and administering a noxious drug in relation to 14 different women over a period of time between 2014 and 2015.
Police and Crown prosecutors maintain there are 14 women who allege they were drugged without their permission and sexually assaulted. Most had photographs and videos taken of them in sexually explicit poses, the Crown contends.
During the trial more than a dozen witnesses — mostly women who worked in the ByWard market — told the court Wilson invited them to party with him and his girlfriend in his apartment where in some cases they drank and took drugs like cocaine and MDMA, also known as ecstasy.
But a review of their medical records and videos of the victims seized from Wilson's cellphone suggest other drugs were at play, according to Dr. Kari Sampsel an emergency department physician and the medical director of the sexual assault and partner abuse program at the Ottawa Hospital.
In her capacity as an emergency room doctor, Sampsel says she has treated many drug overdose victims, including those who consumed cocaine, ecstasy, gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB)  and ketamine, an anesthetic known on the street as "Special K."
Sampsel told Assistant Crown Attorney Anya Kortenaar that during a cocaine overdose a person is usually agitated, displays a rapid heart rate, a high body temperature, flushed face, and possibly seizures could take place.
When asked about an MDMA overdose, Sampsel said the effects would be similar to that of cocaine with the addition of bruxism, which is the clamping down of the jaws to the point of grinding teeth back and forth.
From reading files and observing behaviours on the video, Sampsel told the court there was likely "another drug on board" to explain why the women were left unconscious — something she said isn't likely to happen with an MDMA or cocaine overdose.
Several witnesses also reported that shortly after they drank a drink Wilson had handed them, they passed out or could no longer remember what happened next.
Kortenaar put to the physician what she described as"hypothetical scenarios" of whether the alleged victims were under the influence of a drug other than the ones they admitted voluntarily taking while partying at Wilson's apartment.
Sampsel said while high levels of alcohol, cocaine and MDMA could cause some memory loss - it is more likely the women who said they suffered memory loss and were unconscious for more than eight hours were likely given ketamine or GBH.
In one women's case, Sampsel listened to her 911 call looking for medical help and examined the videos found on Wilson's phone.
"She seemed to be sedated, drowsy, in a dream-like state with slurred, slow speech." said Sampsel. "The sudden onset of memory loss indicates GHB intoxication."
In another video of a suspected GHB overdose the woman displayed a a loss of muscular tone in her face, a typical symptom of the drug and indicative of "fairly significant sedation" Sampsel testified.
The physician told the court ingesting large amounts of ketamine and GHB can also cause a person to lose control of their bladder and bowels, which several of the victims experienced while at Wilson's apartment.
Police seized ketamine, ecstasy, marijuana, cocaine and one vial which tested positive for GHB and several water bottles with GHB in them from Wilson's home.
During cross examination, Sampsel admitted to defence lawyer Trevor Brown that excessive alcohol, which some of the women admitted drinking, could explain the slurred speech, memory loss and incontinence.
The Crown said it likely won't call any more witnesses but will make submissions on Thursday, when the trial resumes.
Defence counsel told the court his client will take the stand in his own defence.

Alleged victims of accused serial rapist likely given date-rape drug: doctor Laurie Fagan, CBC News Jun 12, 2017

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A San Antonio teen who just graduated from high school is accused of living a double life as a serial rapist.
Anton Harris, 18, walked across the stage to receive his diploma on Tuesday before being arrested two days later, according to CW39-affiliate CW33 in Dallas.
Police said Harris, who played on the school's varsity basketball team, confessed to robbing and raping at least six women dating back to March 2015. All of the attacks happened at apartment complexes in San Antonio's medical center district.
Harris reportedly confessed thanks to something like a scene straight out of "Law and Order: SVU." Court documents reveal detectives named Harris as a person of interest, then gathered a cup and straw he left on a school table. They tested the straw and say it's a match to DNA evidence from all six crime scenes.
Now the new graduate may be looking at a future behind bars.

A Jerusalem business owner now working at a girl’s seminary was arrested on suspicion of raping dozens of ultra-Orthodox women he employed.

Police launched an undercover investigation into the suspect following a tip-off by a nonprofit organization that works with rape victims that had received numerous sexual assault complaints by the female employees of the 30-year-old advertising manager.

On Monday, the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court approved a police request to search the suspect’s home and office. The judge ordered the suspect’s name not be released out of consideration for his victims.
A statement from police spokeswoman Luba Samri said an initial investigation revealed the suspect carefully groomed each of his victims prior to assaulting them. He promised certain women and girls help in advancing their careers and lavished them with attention.
After he established a level of trust with his victims, the suspect routinely assaulted and raped his victims in the office bathroom of his advertising agency in Jerusalem. Police said he would also send certain employees home from work early when he knew they would be alone and then come over and assault them in their homes.
According to the statement, the assaults also included extortion and threats. The suspect coerced his victims — most of whom are religiously observant — into silence by threatening to expose the sexual nature of their relationship to their husbands and rabbis in their community.
The police statement said the man left the PR firm and now works at a religious seminary for girls in central Israel.
He was arrested and brought to the Oz police station near the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber for questioning.
He was ordered held in custody until June 18.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and have urged other women assaulted by the suspect to file a complaint with Jerusalem police.

THE GROTESQUE epidemic of rape was laid bare in the high court in Joburg on Tuesday, where three men faced 27 allegations of the crime.

One of the men, 29-year-old Velaphi Ncongwana, pleaded guilty to all six rape charges he faced - including over a dozen more cases of kidnapping, housebreaking and robbery. Ncongwana’s reign of terror began in December 2009 when he brutally assaulted, raped and robbed a woman from Zonk'iZizwe, Ekurhuleni, and his crime spree ended in January 2013 with more horrid crimes.

He described his last disturbing crime in his guilty-plea statement: “On the afternoon of January 4, 2013, I met the complainant (name withheld) in Zonk'iZizwe I dragged her to a maize field without her consent, thus depriving her of her liberty, and in the process committed the offence of kidnapping.”

Ncongwana was sentenced to two life sentences and an additional 170 years for his crimes. According to a source close to the investigation, he was recently sentenced for crimes he committed in Mpumalanga, which is how he was caught in Gauteng, as his DNA matched the cases in his home province.

“He (Ncongwana) committed his rape and robbery in eLukwatini, Mpumalanga, before he came to Gauteng. While police were investigating these current cases, a (match) was found with a rape and robbery in Mpumalanga by the forensics laboratory here in Gauteng. So this is his thing - he rapes and robs,” the source, who asked to remain anonymous, said.
Ncongwana is serving a life sentence and 15 years for the rape and robbery respectively.

Meanwhile, Kelvin Thompson, 23, from Eldorado Park, is facing eight counts of rape for raping eight boys, who were all under the age of 13 when the acts occurred.

The youngest was between seven and eight years old when the acts were done from 2014 to 2015. Thompson's case continues today.

In the same court, Nhlanhla Xaki stands accused of 13 counts of rape, plus several other charges, which include robbery and attempted robbery.

STONINGTON -- Police are seeking the help of the public in stopping a man they believe has raped multiple women over the past few years.
At a press conference, Trooper Richard Blair urged the public to secure their residences and call police if they have any information on suspicious activity.
Blair said several sexual assaults of female victims have occurred in Northumberland and Columbia counties over "several years." He declined to give details about the time span or victims, but said at least one of the victims was abducted in a vehicle. Other victims were restrained during the assaults, he said.
The rapist is entering residences through doors or windows during early morning hours, Blair said. At least one of the incidents occurred in a rural area.
The suspect is described as a white male between 5 feet, six inches, and five feet, nine inches, in height, 35 to 45 years old and of average build.
Blair said state police are working with local and federal partners to investigate the string of attacks. They believe an assault that occurred between 2 and 5:30 a.m. April 23 in Jackson Township may be connected to the case.
"The offender appears to be familiar with the area and may have ties to the community," Blair read from a prepared statement. He declined to specify what that connection may be.
Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Matulewicz said the police decided to address the public as a means of spreading awareness.
"It may cause some fear," he said. "If it could prevent something in the future then that's an accomplishment in and of itself."
Police also announced Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in the case.
"We're asking for anyone with any information to reach out to us through Crime Stoppers," said Lt. Sherman Shadle.
Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers can be reached at 1-800-4PA-TIPS. Anyone with information can also call the State Police barracks in Milton at 570-524-2662 or the Stonington barracks at 570-286-5601.
