A 34-year-old Ramallah resident has been accused of raping a 22-year-old American tourist at the hotel where he worked. According to the indictment, the defendant gave the victim several alcoholic drinks and then took advantage of her when she was drunk.
A serious indictment was filed on Sunday against Tha’ar Dar Kilah, a 34-year-old Ramallah resident, for the rape of a 22-year-old American university student. The incident occurred last week at the hotel in Jerusalem where the defendant worked.
According to the indictment, which was filed on behalf of the Jerusalem District Prosecution by prosecutor Yuval Kedar, the young American tourist was by herself in the hotel lobby and at around 10:30 PM, Kilah approached her and offered her a beer free of charge. He then continued to give her free alcohol until she said that she was drunk and that she wanted to return to her room.
Even though she declined his offer to escort her to her room, Kilah insisted on accompanying her. At the entrance to her hotel room, Kilah grabbed and kissed her as she attempted to make him stop. Kilah continued to take advantage of the American tourist and then led her to a room near the reception desk, where he stripped her of her clothes and raped her.
