A 20-year-old registered sex offender was arrested after the Wake County Sheriff's Office charged him with first-degree forcible rape and first-degree forcible sexual offense of a girl last October.
Eric Jerome Grandberry of Raleigh was convicted in February 2015 of misdemeanor sexual battery that happened in June 2014.
The state’s sex offender registry states that he was 17 at the time and the victim was 15.
Sheriff Donnie Harrison said the girl Grandberry is accused of attacking is a juvenile, but he declined to give her age.
The offenses with which deputies charged Grandberry indicate she was over 15 years old. She is not the victim in the 2014 incident, he said.
When Grandberry was convicted of sexual battery, he also was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor on Oct. 10, 2014.
That was exactly two years before the rape and sex offense alleged in the arrest warrant issued Monday.
Grandberry was given a suspended sentence when he was convicted and was put on probation for three years.
The first-degree level of the rape and sexual assault charges filed this week is based on sheriff’s investigators’ believing Grandberry had an accomplice. That is one of the conditions that permit a first-degree charge.
No weapon was involved, Sheriff Donnie Harrison said.
The other person has been arrested in Virginia and is waiting to be returned to North Carolina, Harrison said.
Grandberry was held on $1 million bail.

PRATTSBURG, N.Y. (WENY) -- A 19-year-old Stueben County man was arrested on sex abuse and child endangerment charges.
According to the New York State Police, Zachary Zigenfus of Corning, was charged with one count of felony sex abuse. He had sexual contact with a child under the age of 11.
Zigenfus was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of acting in a manner which injured a child under the age of 17.
The incident occurred in Prattsburg back on September 20th.
Zigenfus was sent to the Steuben County Jail on $2,000 bail. He has since been released.
LONDONDERRY – A Londonderry teen is facing a felony rape charge after police say he provided an underage girl prescription drugs and alcohol before sexually assaulting her in early July.

Ethan M. Cullen, 18, of 9 Pheasant Run, is charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault forcible rape, two counts of selling a controlled drug and prohibited sale of alcoholic beverages. He was arraigned in Derry District Court and released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail. A probable cause hearing is set for Oct. 10.

The sexual assault count, as well as the two drug charges, are all felonies, according to Rockingham County Attorney Patricia G. Conway. The prohibited sale of alcoholic beverages is a misdemeanor for providing alcohol to an individual under the age of 21.

Officers with the Londonderry Police Department were alerted July 2 to a sexual assault incident after the victim was transported to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester for a possible drug overdose.

When police spoke with the victim, she said she met a male named Ethan on Snapchat and decided to hang out with him on July 1. Court documents indicate she never met Cullen in person and later arrived at his Londonderry residence in the early morning hours of July 2.

“While at Ethan’s house, (the victim) said that he had given her prescription drugs and alcohol. (The victim) informed me that she didn’t remember much about the rest of the night,” said Londonderry police Detective Randy Duguay in an affidavit.

Court documents describe the prescription drugs as Xanax and Adderall.

Duguay’s report states the victim remembers waking up in Cullen’s house and later “waking up in her vehicle with a police officer next to her car” in Goffstown without any recollection of how she got there.

The state forensics laboratory, in a court document, verified the victim’s statement that she ingested Xanax and engaged in nonconsensual sexual activity.

Cullen told police he met the victim through Snapchat and they were at a party together.

He claims to have provided alcohol, but the victim and her friend brought marijuana to the house.

A Great Falls man has been charged with the August rape of a woman who was reportedly drugged on pain killers.
Braden Leif Augustine, 18, was charged with sexual intercourse without consent and two counts of sexual assault. If convicted, Augustine could face a life sentence in state prison.
According to court documents, Augustine raped his friend's sister while she was on the couch, dazed on hydrocodone pills after leg surgery.
The victim told law enforcement officials in the early morning of Aug. 9, she was sleeping on the couch when Augustine, a friend of her brother, came upstairs from the basement and talked to the victim for about an hour, at one point commenting on her pill bottle and saying she "must be feeling pretty good."
Charging documents state Augustine then turned toward the victim then pulled his own pants down and raped her. The victim told police she repeatedly said "no" while he told her "shh," and later put his hand over her mouth as she tried to talk louder.
The incident reportedly happened in the middle of the night. The victim's mother had set her own alarms to wake up the victim and remind her to take her pain medication from the surgery, which took place the day before. When the mother found the victim, the victim then told her parents, who immediately kicked Augustine out of the house, according to court documents. They kept the victim's clothing for evidence to be turned over to police.
Augustine reportedly sent messages through Snapchat to the victim's sister and acknowledged the rape, but the messages did not save. In the messages, Augustine allegedly admitted that he was a "horrible person," "a piece of crap," and that he "knows what is coming to him."
A Cascade County district judge signed an arrest warrant for Augustine on Sept. 27. He was arrested on Oct. 2 and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Two Burton teenagers have been charged in connection with the July sexual assault on Hilton Head Island of a 15-year-old girl, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Maurice Moultrie, 19, and Sylvester Hamilton Jr., 18, are accused of assaulting the girl in the back seat of a car on Muddy Creek Road in the early morning hours of July 23, according to a Sheriff’s Office report. They are both charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to online Beaufort County court documents.
Moultrie was arrested and taken to Beaufort County Detention Center, according to online detention center records. He was released on $75,000 bond, according to online court documents.
Hamilton, who was also arrested, remains incarcerated in the detention center with no bond set, according to online court documents.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report that included multiple interviews, written statements and text messages, the victim and her female cousin were with Moultrie and Hamilton, who was 17 years at the time, and three other males at the Muddy Creek dock. The victim told deputies that after she declined to have sex with one of them, both suspects raped her, the report said.
The girl’s cousin was outside of the vehicle during the attack and told deputies she was told by one of the young men that they were just “play fighting.” She insisted that the girls needed to leave and the boys drove them back to their grandmother’s house. When they returned, the cousin noticed the girl was crying and the victim told her what happened, the report said.
The investigation is remains active, according to Sheriff’s Office Capt. Bob Bromage.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office investigators arrested an 18-year-old accused of raping a girl he met on Facebook.
Rovin Sandoval-Maldonado was booked Monday (Oct 2) with two counts of first-degree rape, said Lt. Jason Rivarde, spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.
Sandoval-Maldonado, who has a booking address in the 3300 block of Tulane Drive in Kenner, met the 12-year-old victim on Facebook, according to Rivarde.
Sandoval-Maldonado raped the girl on two occasions in April at a park in Terrytown, authorities said. The girl's mother contacted the Sheriff's Office in May after she found messages between the two on Facebook, Rivarde said.
State law defines first-degree rape as a rape committed when a victim is under the age of 13.
It took detectives some time to identify the suspect and find him, according to authorities. Sandoval-Maldonado was arrested in Morristown, N.J., and extradited to Jefferson Parish on Monday.
Detectives don't have any evidence that he targeted other victims on social media, Rivarde said.
Sandoval-Maldonado was being held at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna. No bond information was available.

Suspect booked with raping 12-year-old girl he met on Facebook: JPSO October 5, 2017 Michelle Hunter

A 19-year-old was placed on 15 years of probation and told to stay away from Facebook and underage girls after raping a 12-year-old at a friend’s house last year in St. Paul.
Ramsey County District Judge Gary Bastian also sentenced Steven Pierre Williams to 354 days in jail but gave him credit for the 354 days he served in the case following his arrest, according to court records.
Williams’ probation comes with a long list of conditions, including registering as a sex offender, undergoing counseling or treatment services recommended by probation, and avoiding contact with minor girls unless supervised or approved by the court.
He also is banned from visiting pornographic websites and from using online dating services or social media unless he obtains written approval from his probation officer.
Williams pleaded guilty in July to one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct after DNA evidence connected him to the rape of a 12-year-old girl at a St. Paul home in April 2016.
A 17-year-old also was charged in the case and later convicted and sentenced.
The girl, now 14, was sexually assaulted after she was driven to a house on Albemarle Street in St. Paul and taken to the basement, described as “messy” and strewn with beer cans and cigar wrappers, according to the criminal complaint.
Once there, the girl told police that the 17-year-old’s friends pulled her pants down and he raped her.
Williams, whose DNA profile matched that of a sample collected during the victim’s sexual assault examination, told police he was at the house for a “get-together” that evening and asked the girl for oral sex but she refused, the complaint said.
He initially claimed he didn’t touch the girl but later said he “had sex with her for eight seconds … and went back upstairs where he shot dice,” but that she “was OK” with it, charges said.
The victim said the assault continued until a woman came downstairs, began yelling at the males and walked her out of the home before instructing her to call the police.
The other teen was sentenced to 12 to 18 months at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Red Wing for male juveniles.
Deonte Green, the teenager arrested in connection with the recent fatal shooting of a Broken Arrow teacher, was charged with murder.
Green, 16, has been jailed after what investigators described as a crime spree that included multiple armed robberies and a sexual assault on an 81-year-old woman and culminated in the death of Shane Anderson, a Broken Arrow middle school teacher.
The charges filed in Tulsa County District Court on Friday afternoon include first-degree murder, two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, two counts of possession of a firearm after juvenile adjudication, four counts of robbery with a firearm, first-degree rape by instrumentation, sexual battery, kidnapping, feloniously pointing a firearm and attempted cruelty to animals.
Police officials told the Tulsa World earlier this week that at least two detective units had intelligence about Green’s risk to the community before the homicide occurred.
Green, police said, had been released from jail three days before the homicide and rape took place on Oct. 1.
He had been in custody since Sept. 22 on complaints of second-degree burglary, knowingly concealing stolen property, tampering with a surveillance system and malicious injury to property based on claims that he broke into a storage unit, stole a bike and pulled down surveillance cameras.

A Muhlenberg County teen is facing charges of rape involving a minor.
Kentucky State Police arrested 19-year-old Robert Mejia of Central City on Friday.
Troopers said it was reported to them that Mejia was in an inappropriate relationship with a child. Ultimately, KSP said its investigation led them to believe Mejia had illegal sexual contact with someone 12 years old or younger.
He's being held in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center on two counts of rape and two counts of sodomy, along with a couple other charges.
Two brothers who raped and assaulted a teenage girl were jailed.
Christopher Drummond, 23, who had a previous sex offence conviction, was given seven years and Alexander Stewart, 20, four-and-a-half years.
A court was told Stewart, of Invergordon, Ross-shire, met the 19-year-old victim on the dating site Badoo.

When the girl went to Stewart’s house, his brother was there. And when other people who were present left, the brothers attacked her despite her pleas to stop.
They denied rape and assault but were convicted by a jury.

Judge Lady Carmichael told the High Court in Edinburgh the girl was subjected to “an appalling series of sexual assaults”.
She added it was clear that Drummond, whose attitude to women was “extremely troubling”, dominated his brother.

A woman who was in the flat earlier that evening told the trial she had tried to persuade the girl to leave with her when she took her children home.
She said: “I just had a feeling that she shouldn’t be left alone with the boys.”
