MOHALI: The 17-year-old girl who was found murdered opposite a private hospital in Sector 69 on Tuesday evening might have been gang-raped, the autopsy report has said.
A panel of three doctors, including a forensic expert and a gynaecologist, conducted the post-mortem at the civil hospital on Wednesday. "Viscera has been preserved and sent for chemical analysis. Further information will be shared once we get the report," said senior medical officer Dr Surinder Singh.
The maggot-infested body was spotted by a tea stall vendor, Vinod. The body bore four stab wounds, on stomach, chest and neck, the report said. Her face was probably eaten by stray dogs.
A crime investigating team along with Phase VIII station house officer Rajiv Kumar revisited the crime spot. Kumar said that they found a hair clip and a "chunni" of the victim from the spot.
"A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage shows her walking out of the house, where she worked as a maid at 4.28 pm on November 9. But she never reached home. We are also procuring CCTV footage from nearby areas," said Kumar.
