BHOPAL: A 15-year-old girl was raped at her house by his 22-year-old neighbour in Sukhi Sewania locality on Monday.
The minor, along with her parents reported the matter to Sukhi Sewania police station after which a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act was registered against the accused.
The SHO of Sukhi Sewania police station, Mahendra Mishra, said that the survivor is a student of Class 8, while her parents are both farmers.
The accused, identified as Vikas Rajak, hails from Vidisha district, and used to visit his uncle's house in the same neighbourhood where the minor and her family lives. Rajak works as a mason and was known to the girl as his uncle lived bang opposite her house.
On Monday afternoon, she was alone in the house since her parents had gone to their field for farming. She was also about to leave but was not able to find the lock to close the door. She went to their neighbour's house to borrow a lock. While she was out, both the front and back doors of her house were open. When she returned to lock the door, she was shocked to see Rajak inside. The accused pounced on the minor.
The survivor's father suddenly returned home but by then Rajak fled from the back door. SHO Mishra further said the victim narrated the entire incident to her parents. All three of them went to the police station during to lodge a complaint against the accused.
Investigations were soon initiated and the accused has been arrested.
